birdtown news, the local male blackbird has inherited an area that was about 4 territories and is "singing" them in the hope a lady will set up home plenty of resources but a lack of genetics at the mo

We seem to have plenty of birds round here and they are singing and setting up territories and in some cases possibly nests.

Went for a trip yesterday and came across lots of snowdrops and crocus in flower and a few daffodils. In the wood I found some wild garlic (no sign but the distinctive smell if you step on it), new primrose leaves, wild arum and plenty of bluebell leaves coming through. Could do without signs of spring as we still have plenty of winter work to do.

birdtown news a boy owl was calling for a girl owl, i guess she is looking for a boy owl in another part of the wasteland they will probably meet fairly soon population density of survivors does seem to be an issue

mousetown news, mr and mrs sammison are gathering seeds, fruit cake and raw cashews weaners are loads of fun when they are being taught about the world, i will try for more light early litter but they have plenty of food

When we had evict rather a lot of wood mice from an old caravan we were given, one young one looked about it in a 'so this is the world then' way.

the 3 justinson sparrows that visited together are so similar in look that any could pass for the other 2 i did not get a proper look at their feet but the feather patterns are identical as far as i can tell so far there are 5 in total, the other two have identifying features, these 3 need more close study not as close as the one that brushed my beard on his way home

there is a young female blackbird as well as the young male neither look familiar(not brack, not triangular birds) i am unsure if they have paired and if so, where the nest is queenie come for calling

I saw a blackbird investigating the greenery outside our bedroom window a little while ago. Not sure if it will be a potential nest site, but pretty secure if it is.

4 am bold and single nightingale seeks a special nightingale for long term relationship etc own large territory with all amenities must be a good breeder 6 am this blackbird patch is taken

I have been told we have nightingales in the wood, but never been too sure. Haven't heard anything I can be certain of. We saw a couple of brown hares in the wood yesterday as well as a silver pheasant. Strangely the pheasant blended into the leaves as well, if not better, than the brown ones.

the sammison saga has a new chapter, the little one seemed to have discovered the seeds in the mouse castle yesterday afternoon the may be an underestimate of the new arrivals
