the full fat one is quite disturbing the justinson boys are robust using the big glass is probably wise although it is a beast to swing even with a handle and the battery pack for balance and would make a fine club if any of them get uppity if i use the tripod i can get decent take the space snaps up close papping does get better critter doing something shots

Good pictures. I got in close contact with a pigeon yesterday. Not sure what it was doing as my back was turned doing the watering of the seedlings on the patio, but I am sure its wing touched my ear. I must have been in its way as it tried to fly into the creeper or something as it just sat in the tree and made no attempt to even complain at me.

The blackbirds are getting confident around us in the garden...plus this morning a young hen investigated in through the open kitchen door...... I don't mind sharing the garden, but not the house

"i told you i needed a bath" that was clean water when he dived in full fat is about 22 mg as a jpeg(77 mg of raw data after denoising etc) which has a lot more detail that said, the reflections etc show even at 2 mg with the tight crop version at jigsaw puzzle size it has lots of detail and not many easy bits

they usually feel the same

not all of them though, cheapycheep was certain it was born in a caravan with a beardy bloke as a parent
some of the dirty 4 dozen would raid for food and amusement
etc, they are "domestic birds"

Robins are the worst for getting into the house. I have had to evict one from a shed in the woods several times. Bumble bees also look to set up home there, so get shood out. I rather like bumble bees, but it wouldn't be helpful for either of us to have one in there as it keeps getting locked up.

Working in the bookshop in Portmeirion there was no worries when the robins came in to investigate..they went out ok. When the bluetits came in they seemed to have no sense of direction and had to be carefully caught and shown the door

some seem happy to pop in and out, most panic

close the curtains and leave one exit with daylight is an effective option

grab a sooty jackdaw from a picture rail is possible, but it takes a while to get the stains off the walls

i was taught small bird wrangling at primary school, our class teacher was a ringer and would set up the nets and show us how it is done as often as he could by using that to teach maths or writing or whatever as well as biology or geography

gently contain the wings and feet in a way appropriate to the size and demeanour of the birdy, the useful grips etc are probable demonstrated on youtube etc

pop it in a cloth bag if you need to keep it for more than a few minutes or need to weigh it
the happy days when teachers taught rather than following a curriculum of universal tickboxes and sats and foffsted

talk to it gently, that might seem odd but it helps, as does being very relaxed even if it is attempting to rip the tendons out of your hand as you try not to hurt it while you both choke on soot and its sibling is biting its foot

many will leave if they are calm enough to notice where they came in, or when they are ready to leave
beware of pigeons squatting your wardrobe if you leave the access available to them, maybe that is just a london thing

the shiny works, i need to restore it with gaffertape etc the new buffet and spa seems popular birdtown might have expanded to another clutch of sparrows from the justinson flock, there was fresh squeaking first fledge learned bird feeders in under 2 weeks there is a new minimouse
