Basketry Festival

Reminded of this by the return of Tavascarow:
Fishing, Farming and Fashion is the theme of Devonís first festival of basketry celebrating the traditions and challenging the boundaries of the craft. The festival weekend will take place at Dartington, South Devon, on 17 to 19 May 2013.
The festival will provide plenty of opportunities to be inspired and get actively involved with the craft of basketry. Activities will include demonstrations by international basketmakers including French, Japanese and American as well as the best of British makers. There will be workshops for both adults and children, a wearable basketry parade, a craft and produce market, live music and much more.
We have a great range of workshops and demonstrations to learn some basketry skills, create a piece of basketry and join the fun. There will be workshops taking place to try your hand at basketry and on weaving costume items or accessories for the Light Fantastic Wearable Basketry Parade.
The festival opens at 2.00pm on Friday 17 May and entry is free for all on Friday. Saturday and Sunday tickets for the day start at £6.00 and under 16s are free with a paying adult.
Tickets are available in advance from the Dartington website or the Box Office on 01803 847070 is open daily 12.30 Ė 7.00 pm.
