I've just seen what I typed.
I can't apologise enough to any witches here, although I imagine some are brighter than others. What I meant to say was, of course dimmer Switches. I'm sorry. I have just spent a few minutes laughing my head off, and I'm glad people realized it was a typo. |

You need to be careful with this, speak to someone at a lighting specialist, maybe www.lyco.co.uk could help? Very few low energy lamps work with dimmers as far as I know.. |

Generally *fluorescent* bulbs/tubes can't be dimmed. And the bulbs commonly sold as "low energy" are generally fluorescent. Low *voltage* (and inherently low energy) LEDs should be dimmable - but you need an expensive special dimmer - pulse width modulation, I think. What is the purpose of the dimmers? For a large room, you could probably achieve a number of different (but fixed) light levels by having lights wired up as groups (but with the members of each group spread around the hall). So you could switch on say one, two, three or all four groups... for example. |
