Dry toilet

I want to build a dry toilet in my field and have contacted the local planning authority who told me that I need to gain permission. Does anyone know of anywhere that I can find some plans that I could submit? Any tips?

The Centre for Alternative Technology has some dry toilets in their visitor centre. Have a browse of their website, or give them a ring.

You can make a very simple one out of a bucket or 4 gallon central heating tank, some panels (solid pine is good) and an adapted toilet seat.

Natsol has downloadable plans specifically for planning permission.

Here are plans for the type of toilet described by vegplot.

If you had a 'temporary' structure like this would you really need planning permission?

Good luck!
