Eating potatoes with scab

I just bough in some potatoes that have potato scab. Is it ok to use them for jacket potatoes or should they be used only peeled?

How bad are they? I've often eaten lightly scabbed potatoes, including skins. Just as long as there's nothing rotting under the scab then I can't see that there would be anything harmful. Anyone else?

I don't think scab warrants peeling unless really bad.

they weren't too bad and they was nothing under the scab on the actual potato so I cooked them but we didn't eat the skins Smile

Does scab stay in the soil? as I had it last year too but on a different variety planted in a different place? Never had it in my old garden
