Some go for Marrens, think that is the way it is spelt,and/or Welsommers which lay every other day, huge brown eggs. I would look at a poultry book and get a variety of hens to give differing colours, from white through to almost black. I don't like hens, but if I did I would go for a variety of makes, if only for children's topic of conversation. White to almost black, with green and blue eggs are available from a range of hens.
I think someone is supplying Harrods with a 6 pack of different colours.

Marrans, Arucanas, White Leghorn, Cream Legbars, Buff Orpington’s, Croad Langshans, Welsummers. I like pretty coloured eggs!
And in the table pen, and Indian Game cock with a mixed flock of Poulet de Bresse, Dorking, Transylvanian Naked Necks, light Sussex, ixworth, Salmon faverolle and Indian game hens.
I may have thought about this.....

RIR, light sussex ( general purpose and crossings ) , plenty of rescue GBH for comedy value ( eggs and stock) and norfolk black ( for meat ).
no dought if there was scope for it there would be mission creep and less practical chooks might get invited in.
the crazy looking dinochooks are rather fun as are fancy pheasants

You can get lavender Orpington’s, too. Just sayin’
I’ve seen Lavender Leghorns, although they weren’t very pretty. And Lavender Pekins. Pekins are cute, and good pet birds. Although the friendliest birds we’ve had have been Salmon Faverolles. They are happy to be loved by small children, the girls come into lay early, before new year, and the boys make good eating. If I could only have have one multi purpose chicken, it would be a Faverolle. Fortunately, I don’t have to be nearly so discerning!
