My piggies getting one of their five a day this afternoon.

Pigs again I'm afraid.

The girls and the boy tucking into these with gusto!

January born Over the Gate Josephine gilts.

Two year old sow, Over the Gate Princess AKA Mildred, just over a month off from having her second litter.

Gladys, our five year old Josephine sow with her latest litter.

Matty, our young Sambo boar whose expecting his first litter of piglets soon. fingers crossed, I can't wait to see how his offspring turn out.

And last but not least, our latest additions to the herd seem to be settling in just fine. Young Large Blacks, Finnington Blackies getting stuck into some of their five a day.

they look very happy and happy pigs always cheer me up even if i was quite jolly to start with.

the porcine/malus link benefits everyone( in different ways) tis a pity the dormouse orchard is unsuitable for a bit of piggy rummaging

That dormouse site of yours should be a good one. thumbup

hope so ,we are awaiting final confirmation from the brewery/landowners but if they were really against the idea we would not have had a notice up in the pub for nearly three months stating our intentions and asking for volunteers.

we need to do some serious picking of the high fruit in the next couple of weeks which hopefully will cement the volunteers into a meta team that can then be assigned suitable roles to deal with and enjoy the many diverse tasks required.

at the mo i have got some of the trees identified but some not, newton superb is the (probably)identified one but the other two i have eventually recognized as different are cookers but so far without names.

i have some of the newtons in the freezer to see how they juice and ferment Cool they are allegedly a multi purpose type so using them as a cider base is plausible should we be wondering what to do with a ton or so Laughing

it might be one of the others is tom putts which is a cooker/cider and just about munchable when very ripe Cool
