Our First Mead

Has just been bottled, around 5 litres of it. It has been fermenting for a year and was racked once in that time. It tastes fabulous and quite alcoholic. We don't have a hydrometer so we have no idea how mighty it is, but we might have to start on the 3/4 filled bottle tonight a (it won't keep I am sure...) and make a judgement on strength in the morning.

I only tried making it once & I didn't like my result.
I know tis one that improves with age but I think mine would need burying with the Pharaohs before it became palatable.
On a honey/alcohol note has anyone tried JD with honey? an acquaintance says it's lovely, want a second opinion before I buy some JD. Laughing
