Oyster mushrooms?

Found on a rotten old (willow?) tree overhanging the canal on sunday - I *think* they're oysters but would appreciate a second opinion. They're pretty dry and tough with a fairly strong mushroomy niff. Apols for the poor photography..

Looks like them to me.

Yep. As far as you can ever tell from a picture, they're oyster shrooms.

Thanks for that - will be tentatively adding them to my tea!

Do them in some kind of stew or sauce if you can, when they're shrivelled like that they don't benefit from being fried.

That's the plan.

Oyster mushrooms can grow all year round so I guess thats what they are. I got some back in January and I am still using them. Stuck them on a cooling tray above the radiator for a day or two so they were totally dry. Then submerged them in water for a bit to rehydrate as and when they are needed.

I found some on a tree stump and have been checking on them twice a week, eagerly awaiting them to grow. Unfortunately they were 6" off the ground and it looks like some kind of pesky varmint got there first Twisted Evil
