I was going to be doing a spinning demonstration at our local farm's open day, but they aren't having one - the farmer is in the final week of Radiotherapy so he's not really feeling up to hundreds of visitors.

Just been to visit the farm that should have been open - had a personal guided tour of the land as she went on her shepherding rounds.
It's lovely, we know the area well because we often drive past on the road, but to see it from the fields was quite different.
A wonderful afternoon, despite the rain, we really really need it - most of the ponds on the marshy area of the farm are currently dry & cracked open. The Farmer was chuffed to bits because they'd managed to get the hay in just as the rain started a day early for hay, a bit late for Haylage, but it's fodder for the winter and it's IN.
Saw the Jacob flock which are the last to need shearing. They are looking wonderful and I know that as soon as they are clipped I'll be getting a call. Left full of tea and minus the socks I'd knitted for Mr Farmer out of his own wool (Mrs Farmer already has socks from last year's fleeces).

Back home now and drying out.
