got these on sunday,forty ,weighed about a kilo .Gorged on a few and dried the rest.

Don't!!! My friend told me last week that she found a little mushroom in her wood that looked like brains, she picked it, pulled it apart , and tossed it aside. She can't remember where she found it

Ah, but the brain look alike may be Gyromitra esculenta, which may be poisenous.

What are the best type of locations to find Morels ? I have managed to find most types but never Morels.

My garden. The first one I found was just in some rough old chalky soil I had been digging out a few months before. Others have appeared where I've mulched the garden with cheap bark chips. I found the largest one out the front of a local building site again where they'd mulched with bark chips a few months before.

I have looked in woodland around edges of old fires etc but never found any that way.

the area Newbury /Andover[chalky ground] should be one of the best in the country ,look for ash,elm,fruit trees gadens supermarket car parks etc and keep looking,you'll be rewarded eventually ,they taste excellent.

I was referring to where I've found them in the past. I'll mention it if I find any this year, not seen any yet.
