woohoo! all my chilli varieties are now germinated, even the Bhut Jolokia ones. the packet said that germination was erratic and needed temperatures of 28-35C... my ancient but trusty propagator struggles to get to 20C by itself, tho the air temp inside was up at 40 when the sun was on it on saturday morning!
Have since sown white sprouting broccoli ( in trays, no heat) sunflowers, sweet peas, nasturtium.
this weeks sowings: beetroot, carrot, more spring onions, lettuces - reine des glaces and Red devil's tongue
and peas: I have Serpette Guilotteau - a second early, Telephone -a maincrop and another seed swap surprise labelled 'blue flower pea ex lancashire lad'
trying to be disciplined and not starting the beans until end of March early April -I always end up running out of space inside with a backlog of stuff that needs planting out before its safe! |
