We have 8 various Pear trees on our rented land. They are dripping with fruit. I cannot sell them due to our rental contract.

They will be swelling and ripening soon and we are going to have a bash at making some cider and making ourselves sick on pear tarts etc.

Would anyone like a few in return for something other than a pear?

We are based near guildford.

I would also love some if I lived closer to you. I love pear and cinnamon and pear and ginger jam.

Pear chutney is good too - use an apple chutney recipe and substitute pears.

Forget making perry with your pears. They really do need to be from a perry pear variety. We made one failed attempt a few years back.

OTOH, pear wine works well with most varieties, though it is good to have some cooking pears in the mix (or Conference, at least). You could also add a bit more bite with a few cooking apples or crabapples in the mix.
