Utterly no point to this, other than sheer joy that it is indeed the shovel- face-with-pie time of year. I require at least half a pumpkin pie in order to write a lecture and workshop session. It's nearly biscuit bat time too. Hurrah for small treasures in a cold, long and paperwork swamped month. I love food......

I nearly saw some really rare real bats recently. Only we got escorted off the premises by a security guard with a big dog before we got the chance. Which was a shame. It'll make do with bat biscuits. I thought everyone like pumpkin pie.

I loathe it. And pumpkin soup. I have no idea why, but it's one of those 'could not even eat if dining with the queen' things for me. Was he a friendly security guard?

Absolutely not. We were clearly trespassing and may have climbed a small fence to be there knowing we may be turfed out. SO worth it for the pictures though. I only have one friend who'll volunteer to do this with me.

Well I'll eat enough pumpkin pie to make up for both of you. I may adopt a diet of pumpkin pie, tea and gingered pimms, for the winter.

I don't want to eat my pie if it's been walking first. See I'd happily leave treacle tart, does nothing for me.

I will agree that pumpkin soup is perfectly revolting. A waste of pumpkin diverting it from pie.

I thought everyone like pumpkin pie.

I've never made a satisfactory one. It's a bit of an American thing to my mind.
