Can anyone, please, point me in the direction of any good patterns for this kind of thing?

I'm supposed to be making some things for my nephew's school fete; they will probably sell for thruppence and be down the back of sofas by the end of the day so I don't really want to spend years (I'm a slow knitter) on them.

They'll be attached to things (eg brooch backs, hair bands/clips, maybe keyrings or something like that) so purely decorative. Would rather not stuff but I have some proper stuffing if necessary (eg for something like these little hearts https://mochimochiland.com/2007/02/free-pattern-hearts/).

I'd prefer to knit but will crochet if it's the only way out.

Have you tried looking for motif crochet patterns ?
The centres of them can be good as a basis for flowers.

I think most crochet books will have a section on flowers etc. with/without extra rounds of petals, using different coloured wools.

Thanks for the tips Gil and Goldy. Sorry, I should have been more clear. I have lots of patterns, from Ravelry and Lesley Stansfield's knitted flowers, but I have a limited amount of time and skill, so the ones I've made so far (below) are a bit too elaborate in construction/attention required - even the rose below is a bit awkward, although I like it the best. Leaves aren't a problem but I had hoped that someone would be able to suggest a tried and trusted pattern or two. Not to worry.

Thanks both for your help.

i made loads ages ago for a similar purpose, you can make them in about 5 mins and sew onto broach backs and hairbands.
