Its cold and chilly and decidedly arctic this morning... perfect hat weather

Now I can no longer make felt hats I thought I might knit myself a little something sartorial for the head department.

Which intrigued me - what are all your best hat patterns?

I'm knitting a design from this one. It's a bit like an upturned flower pot in moss stitch. It's for my daughter but I might make another for me as it knits up quickly and easily without much concentration required. I will take a photo when it's finished if it works out, there's no guarantee of this with my knitting.

I borrowed the book from our excellent library. (They've just bought yet another book for me on an obscure aspect of quilting. )

Nat seems quite taken with this one, that mum knitted from a monthly magazine, will dig it out and find the pattern if anyone is particularly interested in knitting it.

Woolly Wormhead's hats are usually good-looking and the patterns well-written. Check them out in Ravelry.

I just knit a nice hat from a pattern on Ravelry, but do you think I can find it again... not even the paper copy I printed out to knit from.

It is a basket weave type rib, so a bit more interesting. i made it in wool and in my teams colours, so when I go to a match I can now wear it. It was very useful yesterday...

Thanks for that Rob. It looks like a pretty funky hat. I may have to give one a go for my Niece.

Edit:- That's if I can work out where you get the pattern from.

Do you want me to photocopy it?

Most of my hat patterns are historic, but in my 'modern' ones, I still really like Forester, its simple to do, but looks really nice https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/forester

its easy to make it slouchier by adding another pattern repeat to lengthen it as well
