Yup - a Muscovy. She hatched 11 from 13 eggs which is a great improvement on last year (hatch one was a complete fail, hatch two, 3 eggs from 12). This time the remaining 2 eggs were viable. One died trying to hatch and the other died not very long ago in the egg. I'm guessing congrats are due to Harold as well then

Thank you - he's my younger lad and I suspect it won't be long until there is a trail of broken hearted French mademoiselles scattered along our front drive

I have a pair of Muscovies now. Did I mention? I am hoping the lady will go broody and I can have some babies.

She will go broody - just leave her eggs in the nest when she starts laying, let her sit for 35 days and cuteness is all yours

You might want to get another girl or or drake will get lonely when she is sitting..
Last year when both thevgirls were on nests, my drake had to have 'relationship' with a mallard and you could tell he felt dirty and disgraced
