For the last 48 hours I've been having problems with emails with my "Hotmail" account. The message coming up is that I can't send or recieve emails from that email address due to server errors. I've tried sending myself messages via another of my email addresses and it works, except the incoming messages will only show up on my Iphone and not my pc. I've tried a "System restore" to an earlier date which took over 3 hours, followed by a "System repair" another hour gone...and still no joy (pc seems to be running worse)

Any suggestions please as Hotmail is my main email address

Are you using a browser to get to Hotmail or an email client?

You should be able to access your Hotmail in your web browser which will at least enable you to continue using email. It sounds like a setting has changed and you probably need to go through your email account configuration to check all settings are as excepted. It only takes a small error for email not to work.

Spider, go to hotmail.com and see if you can login there with your username and password.

What client do you use to access hotmail?

Just use your web browser to login into https://hotmail.com. ignore everything else on your PC for now.

Think I'm gonna sleep on this and (hopefully no nightmares)

I put hotmail.com into my server and then went to sign in (I think)

Outlook (who's that??) says they've given me a code I say i haven't got one ...then they tell me I've tried to many times and to try again tomorrow ............I give up

Hotmail is now Outlook (via live.com). They will ask for a verification code often sent as an SMS to your mobile number. Enter the code supplied to be able to login to your email account.

I got mine to my alternate email address, i got sent t a verification screen the first time i logged in each day where it asked me the email i wanted the code sent to, took me a whil to find it cos it was in my spam box and was from microsoft outlook team, nothing to do with hotmail from the email header.

Follow any instructions very carefully. Don't be tempted to skip parts or click through without understanding what is being asked of you.
