Not quite as cute as the baby pandas but still gorgeous! She looks like a good Mum too.

I'm the one in green by the way.

We moved Pru to her new house this morning.

She soon settled in and tomorrow, I'm picking her suitor up.

I feel much happier now that Pru has her own place with plenty of fresh air and grass. I'm sure that she is too.

I had a bit of a scare a couple of weeks ago when they had a day or two of being off their food, but they're doing really well.

I sold two of them at eight weeks of age, which leaves me with the six. I've got the four boars sold for the freezer and for the time being, I'm planning to keep the two gilts back.

Pru's husband Patrick has been playing the field in Whitchurch for the last six months but today I picked him up and brought him home to make an honest woman of her. We landed back at around 4.00pm just in time for bed. Pru was less than impressed.

Pru's boys.

Here are some pictures of Pru's first litter that I took this afternoon. These four boars will be off to the abbatoir at the beginning of March, when they'll be six months old.

The four finished boars were picked up a few moments ago. They didn't want to go and while its quite a sad time, they've had as good a life as I could have given them. I'm glad that I've got this bit over and done with, now we've got to look forward to picking some fantastic pork up on Saturday.

Thanks for sharing the process, it has to be the best way to raise pigs. We hope to raise a couple of weaners again when our circumstances improve.

We collected the four butchered pigs yesterday afternoon and I'm very pleased with the results. It looks as though we fed them just right.
The eight halves came out at between 25 and 28kg and looked very even.
