How?

Can anyone give me simple, easy to remember/follow instructions please?

It depends what you've got on your computer. There's a couple of suggestions on this thread.

Open the image in Paint, and use the resize button there

photobucket has a easy feature to resize images just select edit then resize job done

I'm using Linux...crop it in Shotwell?

I use GIMP.

1) Open GIMP,
2) Open the image,
3) click on Image,
4) 8th item down is Scale Image,
5) shrink the image, save as, then see how big the image file is.

If it helps, I resize email and forum pictures to 72dpi, 750 pixels wide.

photoshop and "save "",save for web and devices" seems to do it for me

i used to "resize image" with a freebie program called ...( i cant remember) but it became insecure so i gave up on it

ps thoroughly recommend photoshop be it a freebie part suite from somewhere or the full payed for one (which is a bit expensive but awesome)

freebies are quite good at basics but ps is the dogs doodahs
