Daughters' mother has said to not get them any "clutter" for Christmas; "perhaps get them something to eat", she says... as if they don't eat too many sweets already.
So. I'm thinking to maybe make them something, but not sure what. Chocolate covered fruit is an obvious choice (chilli works surprisingly well, but perhaps not for the kids) and both like chocolate peanuts & raisins, but mammy doesn't really approve of the latter.
Any ideas?

What about giving them a cookbook aimed at kids with a hamper of ingredients so they can make their own stuff?

A wonderful idea in theory. In practice, mammy is a bit possessive over her kitchen.

Would my fruit scrolls be any use? 100% fruit dried into sheets so it's pretty healthy and doesn't take up much room.

Could you put some on my tab? And are you still doing jerky?

Perhaps it could be saved for being used at your house.

another vote for that

i got a "my first cookbook"when i was about 7

now i have my own steak in waiting

the dk kids first cookbook is a bit more recent , even parents will eat the results cos the recipes work (the brownies recipe is ace )

this one

the new one might be different ,my very old one is a bit different ,this one is ok though

On the chocolate and fruit theme...you could make some bars with fruit nuts set in... can be round or whatever, those silicone moulds work well with choc. If its for kids you can personalise them quite well with cake decs and sprinkles. These are some I did last year packed up for the market. Google chocolate bark ideas...

Chocolate covered sprouts, trick or treaters don't come back for seconds though...
