Looks similar, and there's one near me...
It's technology bringing producers and customers together, and removing the inconvenience some find at markets, or farm shops. Anything that helps can't be bad. |

And we launch tomorrow! It's been a couple of lovely months visiting producers and chatting to some lovely folk followed by the last 2 days of alot of stress but we've made it and tomorrow evening sees us launch.
I just hope people come along and see what we've got to offer, I did a veggie run to pilling today to pick up some amazing produce for the venue to turn into tasting samples, Uchiki Kuri onion squash, leeks, shallots, spinach, rocket, tuscan cabbage, potatoes all grown in Pilling or in the Vale of York, super local, superb quality and a delight to see.
We also have a variety of producers making everything from fresh filled pasta, speciality soups, wonderful sourdough bread, local honey, gluten free cakes and more
It's had it's highs and lows, my meat, dairy and cheese producer (all the same) pulled out on Monday telling me that they were too busy and my mead producer as well pulled citing distance but I'm hopeful I can soon get new producers on board |

Good luck with it. If it works, you won't have a problem getting new producers in. |

I have long held sway that this sort of thing should be in the village pub. It would keep the pubs open (which have to be staffed anyway for long, convenient hours) and save busy people (who are the ones with money) having to trek out to farm shops. Personally, I rather like trekking out to farm shops, but I'm not exactly target audience. If you could plant the post office and a very basic shop in there as well, a small village would have a significant amenity, boost the income to the landlord and reduce stuffing costs to all three.
Our village pub is for sale. |

People in rural areas won't work without it. Sometimes they'll accept bread sauce though. |

We don't grow many vegetables around here. A shame but the land does grow good animals. There are two villages within two miles of me, both have local butcher shops, one has two. They also have deliveries of locally made bread. I think the veg will have to come from a bit further away and I have talked to someone about this already. There are one or two organic growers working on a small scale nearby and supplying one or two shops.
They also have quite a few pubs each, which do not seem to be suffering. The one we use is standing room only on several nights a week and serves excellent food. Each village has a post office. They are both within a few miles of Aberystwyth which has an award winning Farmers Market.
I considered doing what Joanne is doing but I can't see that we need it here. Doesn't mean it shouldn't be done but not by me.
Nevertheless I like hearing how this is going so please keep us updated Jo. |

Stuffing is awesome, and should always be expensive!
I am such a lousy proofreader - I very nearly told Sally on Facebook that her Queen Elizabeth costume made a change from the sick machine.
Glad to hear the villages new you are in such good shape, Cathryn. |

My post was irrelevant, I was justifying to myself why I wasn't going to do it. |

I've signed up for the one in Leamington Spa but I haven't used it yet - TBH they don't sell much that I can't get readily at the health food shop I walk past every day. |
