not this

not these either

the black stuff

the first time i went to the northumberland coast the tide line gave me a rater fun "pebble"

at times i have gathered a little or a lot, there are a few bits that are "huge" for that sort of thing(and i have gathered "spoil" as well as treasure on some visits)

the dinosaur bone was a rather fun bonus time before last,

last visit i saw one small pebble as i was not looking where i would look if i was feeling even a little bouncy

it was lurking in a corner of a desk draw. it got foraged again

i gave one face of it a bit of a grind, gem quality and about ten grams rough, if it was cabochon cut as a blank for carving about six or seven grams

the dust, even as coarse dust from 120 grit abrasive paper makes a super black/brown pigment in gum

it reminded me of similar fossil trees, the biggest lump of good stuff i have is over half a kilo iirc there must be at least a bucket full of bits like this one
