Hi all

Found this while foraging. I don't know what it is.
The cap is a mix of gold/silver, dull.
The stem is white/pale violet.
The gills are grey.
It doesn't stein when cut.
It doesn't smell particulary. Neutral.
It was in a birch and pine wood.

At first I thought of a Field Blewit (lepista saeva), but it grown alone and not in a ring.

Zarza, have a look at Cortinarius purpurascens. What do you think?

Cab, according to Rogersmushrooms website, the Cortinarius purpurascens becomes purple when bruised or cut. The one I found remains the same colour.

The same colour stein is explained here: https://hjem.get2net.dk/phlegmacium/Photosection/Gallery/purpurascens1.html

Follow this link to see a explanatory picture: https://micologia.net/g3/Cortinarius-Purpurascens/68702corti_oker_purpurascens_comb
Note the gap between the gills are wider, and the clear bronze stein on the gills and stem.

I don't think the one I found is Cortinarius Purpurascens.

Hmmm... Might just be my monitor, but I could have sworn there's a purple tinge to that shroom where its damaged.

Okay... Back to the beginning then. Spore print?

Cab,
I think the violet stains are part of the original colour. When I cut the mushroom in half, they were already there.
The spore print is brown.

Maxwell,
No, there wasn't any rusty coloured veil.

Oops, forgot about this.

Looks like either a cortinarius or a hebeloma, and as I can't think of any hebelomas that are violet fleshed at all I'm sticking with a cortinarius. Can't place it though, I'd be curious to see any more samples of this one that you find.
