What else will you be selling? We have our own pickles from our own allotment produce, but always interested in visiting small shops selling local stuff. We're in south Manchester, not too far to pay you a visit one day!

Very best of luck with the project.

Good luck with the shop. If you don't go for it you'll wake up in a few years saying 'What if...'

Sounds like a really good idea, it must feel strange having your home kitchen back but I like the idea "made on the premises".Perhaps doing sales of other "Home produce" could attract more shoppers if you have enough display space. Quite a few local shops will display local produce in our town on a sale or return / % deal...Very best of luck...

hi everyone we opened up on 15th dec very busy till christmas

gone a bit quieter now which has given us chance to finish off refitting the back area for the production of our chutneys etc

starting production on monday then i have to work like the clappers to get some stock ready for orders already in and then the markets on the run up to easter

hopefully the shop will start to pick up again next month

sandra my better half dosnt know what she will do with all the empty space she now has after emptying all the cupboards that i had used for 3 years also 2 empty sheds in the back

will keep you updated on all the ups and downs moving a buisness twice in less than 2 years

Have you had a local news article yet?

If not phone their stories desk (papers/ radio lancashire/ gmr), you're a classic story: "'cor blimey mate opening a shop in a recession when everyone else is closing? You must be mad!"
Obviously you already need a good answer!

hi arvo thanks for your comments

for some reason we are actually getting busier each week don't know why but i'm not knocking it

we had to move out from the house as its hard making in excess of 7500 units in a domestic kitchen

found the shop with loads of work space then came up with the idea of doing a local food shop in the front

basically its a small farmers/producers market in a shop and the local and not so local people seem to like the idea

so we have signed a lease till 2012

fingers crossed we will need to sign anotherone

cheers brian

Hi Brian. Many congratulations, and good luck.
A few comments on the website. No address that I could see.
The photos you have are very good. I would intermingle them more with a lot more text about the products.
Your "purpose" page layout is very bland, it doesn't live up to the exciting message.
All meant as constructive criticism, not to moan.
