After being completely freelance for 12 years I (well the OH has) decided we need a regular income - just to make sure DD's are paid etc - my work is usually very ad oc - which means that every couple of months we can get a flurry of bank charges if I have a late payment.

Have an interview with Shelter Cymru this morning for a 3 day a week office job.

Am getting suited and booted now. Very nervous but am way over qualified for the post. Fingers crossed as this would fit in with the freelance, holiday caravan and the smallholding stuff.

Good luck - easier said than done, but be relaxed and you'll do so much better.

Very very best of luck. Sounds ideal.
I'd guess in charity/cAMPAIGN organisations, an applicant's support for what they do also matters. Lots of places like that have people working in the office that are 'over-qualified'.

Well, just got back, quick coffee before the wellies go back on - mucking out chickens this pm.

The interview went really well. If I've got it then it's a phone call this evening. If I haven't then a letter next week. They seemed an ok bunch and it wasn't too formal.

Had to do a typing test. This was odd as all the keys worked on their keyboard. There is so much gunk in my laptop I have to press most of the keys in their own unique way at home to get anything done.

Here's hoping.

Ooh, any news?

Where do you see yourself in five years? Please tell me they didn't ask that tired old question...

I do hope you've got this, Shelter Cymru went through a serious crisis about a year or so ago and were unable to employ someone in my area, we really missed them.

I'm 99.9% certain I've got it. They rang twice while I was out apparently.

Also the sign off at the interview was "If your successful you'll get a call tonight, those interviewed who have not been accepted will be informed by letter sometime next week."

I'm not saying nowt until I get confirmation though.

I had a chat with one of the staff on the way in. There were over 200 applicants and 25 shortlisted for interview. I had no idea that the job market was so demanding...
