a handy hint is to put a rug or towel in the bath so as the tiny toes dont slip
another is you cant have enough shampoo with a newfie shepherd wolf ,it took a pot and a bit to wet him through and lather him up
third is shower hose works well
fourth is a drop of water in the ear gets the hound to self dry when job done
i dont wash mutts often but the things in ron's trews were fierce ,really fierce ,i found a dead ladybird
a carding type brush is good for combing out once dry
shampoo and conditioner loosens tangles

I used to put two bath mats, those plastic ones covered in suckers, in the bath.

Another useful trick is to get an extension for the shower hose. There's no way the devious little so and so can escape to the other end of the bath to escape being sprayed then .

when we built the new workshop we put a floor drain in the equipment & dog washing room and a good long shower hose

Just now and again it's really, really useful

ron has hair like tina turner - i'm not surprised it took a lot! Kaiser wasn't too bad - he hated being washed, it was one of those times when he got close to losing his temper with me, but at least with short hair it didn't take long.

Take one muddy puppy...

Wash with hosepipe in the yard...

Or in Reading, he gets a regular swim in the Thames fetching sticks

watering cans outside here. We're softies, and even put warm water in the cans . saves flooding the bathroom anyway, hehehe. If you want the mutt not to 'self dry' before you're done, a firm hand on the back of the neck will usually stop them shaking .

When our youngest cat was a kitten (perhaps 3 months) she decided the paing I was mixing looked interesting and got all 4 paws in it. Grey & white kitten with pale blue feet...

The old chap managed to get her washed under the outdoor tap, but she wasn't best pleased.

We once took Wonder Dog to the local canine beauty parlour....
the upshot was he wrought havoc, lady looked as if she'd had the water treatment instead of him! Needless to say we've not been back.

Escape? When I take a shower I have to be careful our dog doesn't jump in with me.

My Cairn was asked to leave and never return

Mine likes to "guard" the bathroom when I take a shower. She feels the bath mat is the best place to protect me from whatever demons she's conjured up. I wish that either she'd learn to move when the water stops running, or that I'd remember before getting out

We have hot and cold water and a complex array of hozelock fittings, making an outdoor shower. And we taught them to shake on command (now that was a useful trick. Much more useful than giving paws)

fortunately geyhounds need little bathing...merlin is keen on the hair dryer if he goes out in the rain though....

sky the sheepdog, on the other hand, could have a bath every day if i was so inclined....on days when she has been rolling in something inappropriate i am afraid that it is a hose pipe in the yard for her...doubt if she can feel the cold water anyway...
