OK - Onwards and upwards.

A date for everyone's diary - the weekend of the 5th/6th June 2010.

The venue Mullacott Farm in North Devon. AKA Alison's place

The plan is another skills share session where people come along and teach others the things that they can do.

So far we have

Beading and tiaras from Fee
Sharpening things - Vegplot
Scythes, sharpening and Peening - Gil
Chicken wrangling - Chez
Rustic furniture making - rusticwood
Pest Control for Smallholders (or indeed anyone) - Brownbear
Various fibre or needle and thread stuff - HelenM
Singing coaching - Nettie
Various textile/fibre things, or could offer lip balm making or how to make cold cream, could do basic corn dolly making - Sally_in_Wales
Spinning (drop spindle) sew, quilt, mend-and-patch, make lucet cord - Belinda
Crochet and bead sewing - Mochyn
Beachcraft - Dpack
Knotty but nice (a dead handy but not exhaustive selection of tying stuff to other stuff) - Arvo
Rigging nets and pots - Carlseawolf
Bead crochet - Minamoo
Sausage making and use of offal - Debbie and SimonD
Bike maintenance - Misdemeanor
Quilting- Minamoo's Mum
Sheep shearing - Jack
Washballs - Sally-in-Wales (children's activity)

What I am after now is more offers from people who can run sessions, workshops etc.

In the past we have had scything, lime rendering, rug making, felting, spinning, chicken dismembering to name a few things off the top of my head. You don't need to be an expert, just have something practical or crafty that you can pass on to others. And of course there's nothing to say we can't repeat sessions we've done before.

I could also do with some offers to help with the logistics and general chivvying nearer the time.

I could cover the basics of bead-jewellery making, or perhaps a tiara-making workshop for any that way inclined children?

The chicken shed thing is for a 4'x4' chicken ark from 2 sheets of ply and a few bits of 2x2. Hopefully someone will want to take the thing away with them at the end of it, unless Alison snags it.

umm sharpening things
i trying to think of one that needs minimal kit and has minimal elfnsafety issues ,useful and easy to get the basics quickly and gain skill later
im having a problem thinking of one ,my hands hold the record of sharpening mistakes after 45 years of doing it

maybe "how to keep a good cutting edge on your work knife " bring your own blade /sharpening kit as it is now and i will try to teach how to get the best from what is brought and the alternatives .i will bring my benchmade , a small double sided diamond file and a ceramic rod

sat afternoon beach barbie ,dpack style

shall we have a beach day on saturday with several themes that will fit on the seashore ?

Various people have been muttering about not being dreadfully confident about handling chickens. (waves cheerfully at VM). I could do some kind of basic "this is how you pick a chicken up"; "this is healthy looking chicken"; "this is a peaky looking chicken" type thing, I guess, if enough people were interested. I could either arrive with chickens en-masse or Alison could let us play with hers?
