Further details of this year's West Country Scythe Festival
here

Well worth going to - you'll learn a lot, whatever your level of skill and experience ! I certainly do, every year I go.

Book in advance. Camping on site.

Strongly recommended. Lots of Downsizery people, even if they're not members.

You'd also get to meet some Downsizers.
We had a bit of a DS mini-meet there on the Sunday at the Green Fair.

I'd like to come to any mini-meet that happens - Arvo won't be around though, just me and the kids.

One of the downsides of living in West Wales, rather than Somerset, is that it's a long way away so I'll probably miss it this year

I'm sure we'll be there. Perhaps not to learn to scythe, but to socialise

Last year's weather would be nice . . .

Just looked at the green fair website ... it's on the Sunday. I think I might try to persuade His Arvoness to come back early so we can all go - looks like it will be fun.

Emmac. if you come to the Scythe Festival we're only two miles away - come and have a look at the new Visions studio & workshop! Bring some images and I can run them through the laser photographic machinery for you to have a look at

Would be lovely to have a mini-meet and see folk again.
Added bonus [or not] = enter the heats of the scything competition (how far can you mow in 1 minute?)

I may be mowing in the northern UK team in the team mowing competition,. ( mINLY Scotland and Cumbria)

For lastminute joiners for the Scythe Fest itself 9tomorrow, Saturday) there are still places left so just turn up - starts at 10am.

Learn to set up your scythe, mow, peen and sharpen.

If I wake early enough, I 'll start the day mowing in Yummersetters new orchard.

We are planning on turning up some time just after 11. But it depends on everyone's state of health/grumpiness.
