Need someone to take care for your stock? Want to get away for a break?

Relief sitting for small holdings is available.
(may be possible this autumn but now busy and so looking to 2011)

Experienced couple seek opportunities to look after your small holding, animals and/or garden in mainland Europe. We are in our 50s and have recently retired from professional jobs.
We currently have around 8Ha of woodland and rough grazing which is gradually being managed e.g. with the creation of allotments and fishing lakes. We keep a few pedigree Highland cattle and some poultry.
Our varied experience includes farm work and a first allotment in the 1970s. We have had large gardens and kept various animals including goats, dogs and cats and even looked after friends’ horses and sheep. We are practical, handy and have some experience with machinery.

We are thinking of moving to mainland Europe and as a first step would like to try living in a range of places to help us decide if such a move suits us and if so where we would like to live. We anticipate looking after someone’s home for anything from a long weekend to a few months, although this is clearly open to discussion and agreement.
