They're packed in nitrogen, hence the need for the metal foil layer to keep it in and avoid any oxygen getting to them. (I'm not saying it's necessary, just pointing out why they do it.)

I'm on Win10 here and at work. Haven't had any problems at home. Work? Nothing's idiot proof. Everyone else gets on fine with it.

It's very configurable in terms of permissions/auto/not-auto stuff ...

Haven't had turkey in years. Rib of beef this year. Doing it and everything else with only one smallish oven working was looking interesting.

I have repaired the oven in time for Christmas. Took an impact driver to move the screws holding the defunct heating element in place.
