We have blus lias flags in our courtyard garden, and over the winter, they have become covered with moss, and have become VERY slippery.
Is there any way we could kill off the moss?
I quite like the effect, but,if any of our elderly residents walk on it in the wet, I can see a fall happening.
Thanks.

I picked up a tip from 'somewhere'

Sprinkle the moss with bicarbonate of soda

Moss turns black in about a week and is then easy to brush up

Worked for me and the moss has not returned

Being a bloke and a baldy one at that, I resort to the pressure washer and blast it away. Boys and their toys, eh.

Pressure washer is the only thing that's worked here, but you'll need to do it annually.

Get some ducks We have had ducks for about 4 weeks and in that time they have managed to remove all the moss from our lawn. As our lawn was predominantly moss in some places we now have several mud baths instead.

Someone once told me that as a kid their grand-parents told them to gather the moss into a bucket because 'Santa's reindeers liked to eat it that way'!

Moss only grows where the ground is either too alkaline or acidic, I can't remember which but you could treat accordingly.

Jays Fluid or salt, both do the same job, we use both at work.
