6 years ago I germinated a damson seed and started a little tree growing.

This year it flowered for the first time, am I right in believing that if it produces fruit I get to name the fruit.
If so any suggestions?

I would wait until tasting the fruit and then go for something inappropriate.... "Small Stoned Tart" for example

My wife uses the forum name of natures child (she's very down to earth) she has all these lovely ideas but I seem to end up doing all the work so it seemed appropriate.
I'm an old romantic so would love a flowery name like "dee's Delight" (her real name) or something of that ilk but I'm no poet so need help.

Dee's Delight sounds perfect in that case
I hope it fruits nicely now!

Why not a slight change to 'Dee's Delightful' - earn a few brownie points on top of a good name

I would wait and find out what the fruit is like. I think you also need to be sure it is a new type before you can claim a name for it. If it is, I think Natures Grafter is a good one, although Dee's Delightful is pretty good too.

I agree that I would wait till the tasting-it could easily become 'damned son' if the taste is too tart! And if so the delightful Dee may not appreciate becoming a t...!
