We've yet to find time for elderberries, sloes and damsons, but we did manage to pick a whole basket of field mushrooms. Lovely they were too, we've dried plenty and we'll be eating the rest them for days yet. But there was very little else growing in the woods; a few pluteus and others that weren't edible or interesting.

Quite an odd season so far!

I had my first Cep on Saturday. It was a bit slugged and the maggots had started attacking the base but there was still plenty, after trimming, for a nice omlet.

I've not been doing this for long so each year is normal to me.

There's more Elderberries, Brambles and Rowan than I could possibly use around my way. Its almost a shame to leave it but I have no more space, anywhere, certainly. But I am getting athird freexer when the MIL moves house. But then i will need to buy another shed to put it in.
